Here’s a press release for the latest issue of Blocks magazine:
Blocks magazine builds The Walking Dead in Issue 37
With Halloween approaching, the latest issue of Blocks magazine gets creative with the pop culture smash hit that is The Walking Dead.
This special issue is a unique collaboration between Blocks magazine and Charlie Adlard, the artist behind The Walking Dead comic books. The coverage kicks off with an interview with the talented penciller about his work and LEGO fandom, before his original artwork is used to inspire equally atmospheric LEGO builds.
Simon Pickard constructs incredibly creepy, haunting LEGO representations, based around some of the comic’s most memorable scenes. The Walking Dead inspired builds continue as a group of talented AFOLs each take a page of comic book artwork and recreate the panels – with the added twist being that the builds only use black, white and grey LEGO bricks.
When the Mod Squad have finished turning delightful Creator houses into post-apocalyptic buildings, attention turns to the LEGO Star Wars Duel on Naboo set, showing how fans can give the memorable movie moment the scale that it deserves.
Elsewhere in this month’s issue, the LEGO Group’s Jamie Berard and Morten Graff-Wang talk about designing the Creator Expert London Bus before the set gets the Blocks review treatment. Month in LEGO covers the launch of the UCS Millennium Falcon, while Technique demonstrates how to get those minifigures sitting comfortably.
With the threat of a zombie apocalypse ever looming, it is always safest to have Blocks delivered to your door every month – it even arrives early – so check out subscription packages at www.blocksmag.com.
